Holy Synod of Church of Greece bans smoking

The Church of Greece bans smoking and vaping in the premises of the synodical hall of the Church of Greece.

As stated in a relevant document signed by the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop of Filotheos of Oreoi, the Church of Greece is in line with relevant national legislation and bans “everyone from smoking and vaping in all parts of the synodical hall and from using tobacco or vaping products”.

As was made clear, “it is a disciplinary offence which results in administrative and financial punishments, which may be serious where appropriate.”

It is noted that the Synodical Hall of the Church of Greece, which is located in the Petraki Monastery in Kolonaki, houses the services of the Holy Synod, the Apostoliki Diakonia and the Central Financial Services.
