The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America announces to the faithful in America that it has received today a Patriarchal Letter of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew which informs the Orthodox people in America that the Holy and Sacred Synod of Ecumenical Patriarchate accepted the request of Metropolitan Epiphanios of Kiev and All Ukraine and listed (canonized) among the Saints of the Orthodox Church Archbishop Luke of Simferopol in Crimea, the physician and miracle-worker.
The feast day of the saint will be celebrated on June 11, the day of his saintly repose in the Lord.
All Orthodox Christians are urged to honor Saint Luke of Simferopol by hymns and ask for his intercession to the Lord.
