Delegation of Mount Athos at the Ecumenical Patriarchate

On Wednesday, October 2, a delegation of the Holy Community of Mount Athos, consisting of Hieromonk Nikodimos from the Monastery of Great Lavra, Monk Nikodimos Hieromonks from Agiou Pavlou Monastery, and Hieromonk Sisois from Xenofontos Monastery, met the Ecumenical Patriarch in order to lay down in detail the of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s visit to Mount Athos on October 19-22.

It is recalled that on Saturday, October 19, the Ecumenical Patriarch, coming from Thessaloniki, will arrive at the Xenophontos Monastery, which will be the first monastery the Ecumenical Patriarch will visit on Mount Athos. During his stay, he will preside over the Divine Liturgy at the new katholikon of the monastery, on the 200th anniversary since its establishment. Then he will visit Karyes as well as monasteries and sketes, as it has already been announced.

Deacon Grigorios also attended the meeting of the Ecumenical Patriarch with the delegation of the Holy Community.

Earlier, the Ecumenical Patriarch held an audience with Metropolitan Maximos of Ioannina. Then he met Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand.

The Ecumenical Patriarch also met the distinguished artist, Konstantinos Georgiou, accompanied by his spouse and his daughter, on tomorrow’s inauguration of his painting and sculpture exhibition, entitled “Enigma”, which will be hosted in the Consulate General of Greece in Constantinople until the end of October.
