The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Constantinople, Cui Wei, visited this morning the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

It should be mentioned that Cui Wei is the first representative of China to visit the Phanar and meet the Ecumenical Patriarch.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew informed the Cui Wei about the spiritual work carried out by the Metropolitanate of Hong Kong, which, under its jurisdiction, ensures the shepherding and support of the Orthodox believers living in Hong Kong.

On his part, the consul general briefed the Ecumenical Patriarch on religious and social life in China and said he would be glad to visit China.
