Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis held a meeting with Archbishop Ieronymos.

Current church issues were discussed during the meeting. Both sides committed themselves that the competent ministers would resolve all the loose ends between the Church and the State and that the necessary arrangements would soon be put in place.

The meeting was held in an exceptional atmosphere. In the context of the new beginning in relations between the State and the Church, on the basis of respect for their distinct roles and a relationship of sincerity, Archbishop Ieronymos and the Prime Minister agreed to keep regular contact.

The two sides reportedly discussed issues related to the permanent posts of clergy requested by the metropolises and the framework for the use of church property.

Finally, the issue regarding the hospitalization of former Patriarch of Jerusalem, Irenaios, was also discussed.
